The Chalk guys
The Chalk Guys
Hector Diaz and Ken Mullen are the "Chalk Guys". First introduced to street painting 19 years ago through the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival, in Florida, Hector was hooked from the start. He quickly paired up with lifelong friend, Ken Mullen, to recreate a William Waterhouse painting, which would soon become the first of many collaborations. More recently, they started a journey into the realm of larger-scale pieces, as well as the exciting world of 3D chalk art, and they have not looked back since. In the past few years, having officially dubbed themselves the "Chalk Guys," they have shared their whimsical 3D street paintings all over Florida and throughout the United States.
For these chalk guys, street painting is about more than an image on a street. It's about the process, the crowd interaction, and the great friends that they have met along the way. Ken Mullen has even passed on the passion for art to both of his daughters, one of which (Aislynn Mullen) is a Chalkfest 2019 newcomer artist!
